• Carbon monoxide emissions in the United Kingdom fell by 18 per cent between 1971 and 1991, and then by a further 55 per cent between 1991 and 2002. (Figure 11.1)
• The United Kingdom produced around 4 per cent of its electricity from renewable sources in 2003, compared with an EU-25 average of 14 per cent. (Table 11.9)
