Research and Experimental Development (R&D) Statistics 2001
UK Research & Development expenditure for Business and Government in 2001, together with Gross domestic expenditure on R&D, Regional breakdowns, and International comparisons.
This article is the latest in an annual series, which provides a guide to Research and Development in the UK today. The information covers research and development data for the four sectors of the economy, government, business, higher education and private non-profit with the majority of the information coming from the ONS's Business Enterprise and Government R&D surveys.
The statistics are consistent with the Organisation for Economic co-operation and Development's (OECD) Frascati Manual. The tables show R&D expenditure and personnel personnel data split by civil and defence categories and type of research activity. The regional R&D data is presented by Government Office Regions and tables showing international comparisons are made between the G7 countries.
