Recent years have witnessed an increasing interest on the relationship between IT and productivity. A rich array of analysis has explored this issue empirically, first in the framework of the US economy and more recently in a broader set of countries. The initial studies - based on growth accounting techniques applied to industry level data - have and continue to be extended by additional evidence based on firm level and industry-specific analysis.
