Revisions in the National Accounts stemming from the Atkinson Review

The purpose of this note is to provide a more detailed account of the changes made by the ONS to the Adult Social Services component of General Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GGFCE) in the National Accounts which will be introduced in the Blue Book 2005.
It supplements the explanatory note Improvements in the Methodology for Measuring Government Output, May 2005 (see Related links) which pre-announces revisions to the volume measure of GGFCE arising from implementation of recommendations of the Atkinson Review published in January 2005.
The revisions to Adult Social Services are one part of these changes.
