ICP: A technical note on revisions and interpretation
This article provides detail about the ICP methodology, the compilation process and use of purchasing power parities, and a detailed analysis of past and present revisions.
UK productivity in 2003, as measured by GDP per worker, was 11 per cent below that of the average of all other G7 countries. Before this revision, UK productivity was 13 per cent lower. UK GDP per worker remains similar to that of Germany, above that of Japan, but still below that of France and the USA.
This technical note provides further detail about the international comparisons of productivity methodology, the compilation process and use of PPPs, and a detailed analysis of past and present revisions to the international comparisons of productivity estimates since their first publication in October 2001.
