Housing Statistics User Group.

This group was set up as the result of a joint initiative by the Statistics Users' Council, the Chartered Institute of Housing and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister at an inaugural meeting on 11 July 2002.
The objective of the group is to give users and providers of housing statistics their own forum so that they can:

  • exchange views and information;
  • identify problems in the collection, provision, use and understanding of housing statistics, and discuss solutions with the responsible authorities;
  • provide input to those sections of the National Statistics work plan that deal with housing (and related) statistics ;
  • to encourage the proper use of housing (and related) statistics through publicity and education.

At the inaugural meeting, a committee was appointed to take forward these aims through the organisation of regular seminars on topical subjects connected with the provision/use of housing statistics, and through .the circulation of a newsletter.
