FSUG works for the interests of users of financial and macro-economic statistics. Affiliated to the Royal Statistical Society, FSUG is represented on the RSS Statistics Users' Forum (SUF), the umbrella body representing all users' interests to producers of National Statistics and has a dialogue with the Statistics Commission. Through seminars, roundtables and discussion groups, the group improves members' understanding of compilation methodologies, obtains practitioner views on existing statistics or potential improvements, provides a topical discussion forum for compilers and users, and promotes expertise amongst users.
Free membership is open to any user of financial statistics, and an executive committee, meeting 4 times a year, to which the ONS and BoE are observers, is elected annually. Events are usually held in Central London locations.

News
In common with other user groups, FSUG aims to identify priority areas of concern to users, to feed into the SUF debate on user needs. The RSS will be providing support for affiliated user groups and encouraging contributions from its membership.
