What questions can be used?

As classifications determine the way in which responses are grouped, they have implications for the standard questions used.

We have undertaken a programme of question testing to develop questions that generate data to populate the classifications. The preferred standard questions are given below:

Questions for collecting Ethnic and National Group data
Questions for collecting Ethnic Group data only

The format of the questions also have to fit the mode of data collection, whether face-to-face, telephone interview, or self-completion form.
