Other sources
Other sources provide indirect information on the labour market. The Expenditure and Food Survey (EFS) includes questions on employment status, receipt of benefits and income from self-employment.
The General Household Survey (GHS) includes questions on economic activity, working hours, education and skills, attendance on government training schemes and membership of pension schemes.
The Family Resources Survey (FRS) covers similar subject areas as the EFS and the GHS, but a larger sample of households are surveyed.
The UK 2000 Time Use Survey was a one-off survey conducted in 2000 and was designed to measure the time the UK population spends on various activities. Labour market data collected included employment status, income, hours worked and working conditions.
