Household surveys
Surveys within this section are completed by households throughout the UK. Information collected that is of interest to the labour market includes employee’s hours, type of job, ethnicity and duration of unemployment. Household surveys are non-compulsory. In addition, the data collected are from a sample of the population.
The census is a compulsory survey, conducted every 10 years. It collects data from the whole UK population.
