Guides / Labour Market / Sources

Sources

Labour market statistics are obtained from a number of sources: household and business surveys, and administrative sources held by government departments. Surveys include the Labour Force Survey and the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings, both of which are conducted by the Office for National Statistics. Administrative data come from administrative records, such as records of Jobcentre Plus local offices on people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance benefit.
