Subsection DN total turnover has increased by 7.0 per cent from £18.12 billion in 2005 to £19.38 billion in 2006.
Within 37.1 (recycling of metal waste and scrap) total turnover has increased by 36.6 per cent from £2.79 billion in 2005 to £3.82 billion in 2006. The number of businesses has increased by 2.9 per cent from 690 in 2005 to 710 in 2006.
Subsection DN approximate Gross Value Added (GVA) at basic prices has increased by 1.4 per cent from £6.41 billion in 2005 to £6.50 billion in 2006. The movement of GVA is shown in the following graph:
