Subsection DG total turnover has increased by 1.3 per cent from £62.13 billion in 2006 to £62.95 billion in 2007.
Within 24.1 (manufacture of basic chemicals) total turnover has decreased by 2.1 per cent from £30.78 billion in 2006 to £30.14 billion in 2007.
Within 24.3 (manufacture of paints, varnishes and similar coatings, printing ink and mastics) total turnover has increased by 4.5 per cent from £3.75 billion in 2006 to £3.92 billion in 2007.
Subsection DG approximate Gross Value Added (GVA) at basic prices has decreased by 4.4 per cent, from £19.05 billion in 2006 to £18.22 billion in 2007. The movement of GVA is shown in the following graph:
