Subsection DE total turnover has decreased by less than one per cent from £44.19 billion in 2005 to £44.17 billion in 2006.
Within 21.1 (manufacture of pulp, paper and paperboard) total turnover has decreased by 6.5 per cent from £3.37 billion in 2005 to £3.15 billion in 2006.
Within 22.2 (printing and service activities related to printing) total turnover has increased by 6.3 per cent from £11.96 billion in 2005 to £12.72 billion in 2006. The number of businesses has decreased by 3.2 per cent from 16,889 to 16,355 in the same period.
Subsection DE approximate Gross Value Added (GVA) at basic prices has decreased by less than one per cent, from £18.38 billion in 2005 to £18.37 billion in 2006. The movement of GVA is shown in the following graph:
