Section M - Education (excludes some public sector)
Section M total turnover has increased by 9.0 per cent from £21.88 billion in 2006 to £23.86 billion in 2007.
The employment variable within Section M is not on the same basis as the financial variables and therefore per head estimates should not be calculated for this Section. The financial variables exclude local authority and central government bodies.
Section M approximate Gross Value Added (GVA) at basic prices has increased by 13.3 per cent from £8.14 billion in 2006 to £9.22 billion in 2007. The movement of GVA is shown in the following graph
