Carried out in April of each year by the Department of Enterprise Trade & Investment and provides a wide range of information on earnings and hours worked by employees in Northern Ireland.
A sample survey of employees who are incorporated in pay-as-you-earn (PAYE) schemes and for whom the Inland Revenue tax offices hold deduction cards.
The survey collects information on the industry, occupation and pension arrangements of all employees included in the sample.
The survey provides details on gross weekly earnings, and the make-up of pay in terms of overtime pay, payments-by-results, other incentive payments and shift and similar premium payments.
Information on hourly earnings and hours worked is also available.
