The purpose of NISVQ is to collect and provide detailed information on the awards of vocational qualifications made in each academic year in the UK.

NISVQ provides robust national estimates on the awards of NVQ/SVQs. It also collects information on the awards of other regulated VQs (Vocationally Related Qualifications) and non-regulated VQs (Other Vocational Qualifications).

NISVQ collects information on the characteristics of the candidate achieving the awards (e.g. age, gender), information about the qualification gained (type, level, subject and occupational classification) and the type and location of the assessment centre which administered the award.
