It contains data on public sector finance, central government revenue and expenditure, money supply and credit, banks and building societies, interest and exchange rates, financial accounts, capital issues, balance sheets and balance of payments. From October 1998, the data in Financial Statistics became consistent with the European System of Accounts (ESA 95).
The publication is divided into two parts. Part one comprises free-standing data and the figures in chapters one to seven are updated monthly; part one also contains data from ONS, Bank of England and other government departments.
