The Office for National Statistics conducts a monthly survey which asks employers how many vacancies they are actively trying to fill. It is a statutory survey with a monthly sample size of 6,000 covering the whole economy in Great Britain.
Results from the survey are published in the Labour Market Statistics First Release and Labour Market Trends and are essential to allow key users, including National Accounts and the Treasury to assess labour market conditions.
ONS began to publish results from this survey in September 2000.
This review was produced in accordance with the Prime Minister's Instructions on the Control of Statistical Surveys.
These National Statistics are produced to high professional standards and released according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
