This table is taken from Table 6.1 of Population Trends. It contains annual and recent quarterly data on deaths by sex and age group. Data are presented in thousands and as rates per thousand population in each age group.
Figures represent the number of deaths registered in each year up to 1992 and the number of deaths occurring in each year from 1993 to 2005. 2006, 2007 and provisional 2008 and 2009 figures relate to registrations.
