Regional Trends 40

Regional Trends offers a comprehensive and revealing insight into the state of the nation, illustrating many aspects of life at a regional and local level.

The publication brings together comparative regional data about people and industry, such as the value of our houses, our health, the qualifications we achieve, the amount we earn and the value of the economy.

It also reflects interesting changes. We're recycling more, and while car and air travel are increasing, so too is bus travel. But the picture varies across the nation – Regional Trends puts the spotlight on a range of topics which differ around the country, providing a good starting point for more detailed investigation.

This year's edition also features articles aiming to help researchers get the most out of data for small geographical areas. For example, combining two area classifications can give new insights into rural and urban fringe areas.
