The tables appearing in this article show a geographical breakdown of the current account. The data cover 42 countries as well as international organisations, and present data according to current account component - trade in goods, trade in services, income and current transfers. This article presents data consistent with that published in the 1998 Pink Book. It should be noted that these estimates are less firmly based than the world totals, and should be seen as a broad indication of the economic relationships between the UK and rest of world economies.
Current account surpluses were recorded with America, Asia, Africa and Australiasia in every year since 1992. In contrast, the UK has recorded a current account deficit with Europe in every year since 1992.
